Crypto Quilts 101

When I was in college, I read books about the history of crypto quilts and became intrigued with them. I loved the idea of a wide, comfortable fabric that was easy to sew together. I wanted to create my own quilt, but I didn't know where to start.

My first attempt at making a quilt was less than successful. I had planned on using a kit to make a lovely hand embroidered quilt, but the kit seemed out of reach. Then I discovered that, like me, many other women and girls were excited by the idea of being able to make their own unique quilts.

New quilting kits were beginning to appear in specialty stores all over the world. The new technology and creativity that these quilters used were amazing. My favorite part of creating my own quilt was how simple it was.

Of course, when I started looking for tutorials and designs to make my own unique quilts, I found the same thing everywhere. First, there were a few tutorials available online. Most of these were very basic and didn't offer much in the way of new ideas. Still, I wanted to find something a little more exciting and unique.

I read a few books on making my own quilts as well, hoping to find a new thing that would allow me to experiment with my own design ideas. After doing some research, I discovered that most people weren't talking about using a kit to make their own quilts. Instead, they were starting to use the latest tools and techniques to create their own quilts.

Because I liked the idea of learning about new material and designs, I decided to try to do the job myself. I purchased a tutorial kit from a local craft store and began searching for patterns. The patterns for the most part were rather basic and a bit boring. What I really needed was something more exciting.

Once I learned how to use my new material, I began to design my own creations, some of which turned out quite well. This was one of the best things about my experience with these new quilting tutorials. I quickly realized that I had found a great place to get the information that I was looking for.

The fact that I could learn new materials, patterns, and techniques was an added bonus. Because I found such a comprehensive, yet affordable package, I was able to create a beautiful, unique quilt using my own designs.
